Neil Schmeichel serves as an Advisor at Vitalis Strategies, applying nearly 30 years of entrepreneurial leadership to healthcare finance. Over three decades, he founded and grew two international service companies within the oil and gas industry—expanding operations across Canada and into the United States—before completing his Executive MBA at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business. A recognized expert in financial management, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic financial planning, Neil now advises Vitalis on strategic mergers and acquisitions, streamlining operations, bolstering fiscal performance, and navigating complex growth initiatives to unlock their full potential.

Karen Black, B.Ed., B.H.Ec., CCPE

Consultant - Sales & Training

Karen Black serves as the lead Sales & Training Consultant at Vitalis Strategies, bringing over 25 years of expertise in pharmaceutical, medical aesthetics, and private healthcare education. A Bachelor of Education graduate, she transitioned from the classroom to corporate training roles with Eli Lilly, Allergan, and Leo Pharma before founding two high-impact service lines in clinic operations and sales development. As Operations & Practice Development Manager at a $12 million dermatology practice, Karen led 38 staff and six physicians—establishing front-desk SOPs, driving sales strategies, and scaling patient volume to 500 daily. Today, she consults with Vitalis on comprehensive training and sales design that shapes an entire clinic—from front-line staff to leadership—into a cohesive, patient-focused team. By instilling a culture of excellence, refining communication and sales psychology across every role, and aligning processes with best-in-class standards, Karen ensures each interaction reinforces brand value and drives confident, efficient patient engagement.
